There's not very much that I remember from the night Husband became a Daddy for the first time. It had been an overnight labor and she'd been born at 6:01am.
I vaguely remember hearing her cry as I laid back against the bed. I wanted to hold her but I was too exhausted. Husband had followed the team that was wrapping her & taking her vital stats, etc. so he could tell me all about what was happening later.
She was still crying, and I still couldn't hold her, so the nurse handed her to Husband instead. He started talking to her, and she immediately stopped crying. She knew her Daddy, and knew that was a great place to be.
Happy Father's Day.
